Camden catholic robotics worlds

On Saturday, March 15, 2025 two CCHS Robotics teams competed in the VEX Robotics NJ State Championships at NJIT. CCHS team 41618J, with Dan Doan '26 and Tri Do '26, scored in the top 1.5% of the world (out of 20,000 teams) for their combined Robot Skills score and earned a spot to compete in the VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas in early May. Dani Brown '25 and Kyle Aquino will join them at Worlds. This is a first in CCHS history!

"Needless to say, I'm ecstatic," shares Dr. An Nguyen, Director of CCHS Robotics. "The name of this team specifically references a Bible passage, 2 Corinthians 4:16-18, which alludes to something much more important than robotics, but is appropriate to describe these teams. They have been preparing for competition with many months of hard work, sometimes going weeks without any visible progress. After a lot of ups and downs, both of our teams won the Judge's Award at States. This award recognizes how much they've grown. The competition has never allowed two teams to win this, but they were so impressed with the CCHS teams, they awarded it to both. I'm so proud of them, for working through the countless hurdles they encountered with creative problem solving."

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Please join us in supporting the team, with any amount you can contribute, as we aim to raise $10,000 in order to participate. Your donations help cover registration fees, travel expenses, and robot upgrades. Sending our teams to Worlds raises CCHS' STEM program to a global level and sets the bar for the future of the program.
