Camden Catholic High School is thrilled to announce the addition of Girls Flag Football to its athletics program, beginning in the Spring of 2025. This exciting new initiative positions Camden Catholic as a leader, especially amongst private/Catholic High Schools in the area, in expanding athletic opportunities for young women. The State of New Jersey has approved Flag Football to become a Varsity sport in 2026, and CCHS is excited to be at the forefront of this emerging activity.
In partnership with the Philadelphia Eagles, this program will provide female athletes with the chance to develop their skills in a fast-growing sport that emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and athleticism. The Eagles have generously offered support through funding, equipment, and coaching resources, making this opportunity possible for our students.
“We are incredibly proud to be at the forefront of this movement in girls' sports,” said Jim McHugh, Camden Catholic’s Director of Athletics. “Flag football provides a unique avenue for our student-athletes to showcase their talents and break new ground in high school sports. With the support from the Philadelphia Eagles organization and the NFL, we’re confident this program will be a success.”
As Camden Catholic continues to grow its legacy of athletic excellence, the addition of Girls Flag Football reflects CCHS’ commitment to empowering all students to achieve their personal and athletic goals. “We can’t wait to see the inaugural Irish Flag Football Team take the field this spring,” shared Jim McHugh.
