Today, the CCHS family came together, from students and parents to faculty and staff, to alumni and friends, to donate Thanksgiving meals that will feed over 1,000 people! CCHS is led in this effort by our Campus Ministry department and the SSJ Neighborhood Center, where the meals have been delivered.
During the Spirit Week Canned Food drive, each class went above and beyond bringing in a grand total of 9,000 cans of food, which were a part of the annual Thanksgiving Meal Drive. In addition, $2,500 was collected and used to purchase meal items, such as poultry, pork and pie, and about 50 groups contributed full meals which were collected throughout the morning of November 19.
Several CCHS parents were also a part of the volunteer effort, spending the entire day packing, loading and delivering the items to SSJ Neighborhood Center, where local families are awaiting their donations.
Fox29 will cover the event on this evening's news, be sure to stay-tuned!
